The lead times in the outsourcing of contracts were to be decreased in order to reduce the stock levels of our customer. A comprehensive project was planned with a large number of involved departments within the company to work on reducing different sections of the lead time.
Our task was to consult the project manager as well as support the whole project in different aspects. This involved soft topics such as the change management of the project in the company and core topics like the design and implementation of new processes and tools in the procurement department of the company. As a result of the project the lead times were reduced considerably and new processes established in a way that our customer can now achieve lower lead times in the long-term.
